The brief

A fictional design and delivery company had several ways to start new work. Each project lead collected information differently, leaving the delivery team to reconcile proposals, meeting notes and unanswered questions.

The constraints

The company wanted to use its existing tools. Team members could join two workshops, and any new process needed to work for both small assignments and longer projects.

The proposed work

We would trace two representative projects, interview the people involved and map the decisions required before a project begins. A joint workshop would agree a consistent definition of “ready to start”.

Example deliverables

  • A one-page project-start checklist with a named owner.
  • A handover template separating agreed scope from open questions.
  • A weekly review agenda for new and at-risk handovers.

This story describes illustrative work, not a completed real engagement or measured commercial outcome.
